Antichissima famiglia di Bassano che la tradizione vuole di origine Spagnola. Nota storicamente nel 1175 nel qual anno un Giovanni presenziò all'atto di sottomissione di Bassano a Vicenza. Dal 1220 risulta da pubblici documenti investita di cariche e già figura fra le consigliari. Con la investitura di livello perpetuo di molti beni in Rosà a favore di Walperto e di Alberto da parte dell'abate di S. Eufemia di Villanova il 3 marzo 1299 in atti Omobono Bonzamini fu costituito un fidecommisso, i cui beni rimasero in famiglia nella totalità fino al 1893 e parte lo sono ancora. Nel 1302 fu una delle 17 famiglie bassanesi scomunicate per usurpazione di Decine del comitato Vicentino, assolta dalla scomunica del cardinale legato fu investita ai 30 gennaio 1305 a titolo di feudo delle decime di S. Eusebio nella persona di Lorenzo di Tiso. Ebbe numerose illustrazioni nelle magistrature, nelle cariche civili ed ecclesiastiche,
