El primitivo solar de este linaje estuvo en la villa de Pie de Concha, del Concejo de Bárcena y partido judicial de Torrelavega (Santander). Hubo después otros solares en los lugares de Tezanos, Selaya, Rozada y Llerana, del Valle de Carriedo; en Cabárceno, del Ayuntamiento de Penagos y partido judicial de Santoña; en Santillana, del partido de Torrelavega, y en Santisteban de Carranza (Vizcaya). Se extendió por Castilla y Andalucía, fundando nuevas casas en las ciudades de Guadalajara y Vélez-Málaga. A la casa de Tezanos pertenecieron José y Fernando de la C., caballero de Santiago en 1779 y 1797, respectivamente. De la del barrio de la Rozada procedió Luis Antonio de la C. y García Solalinde, natural de Barcenilla y caballero de la misma Orden en 1705. Y de la rama de Vélez-Málaga fué Andrés de la C. Zapata, Rector de la Unversidad de Salamanca, Oidor de las Audiencias de Valladolid y Sevilla y caballero de Calatrava en 1682.
