Anche prima del 1297 figuravano fra le famiglie più distinte di Venezia e che coprivano importanti magistrature, nondimeno nella serrata del 1297 si trovarono esclusi dal Maggior consiglio. In tre differenti epoche successivamente furono riammessi al patriziato: Angelo nell'anno 1381 per i sacrifici sostenuti nella guerra contro i genovesi; Marco nell'anno 1431 nei riguardi dei meriti dello zio Gabriele, elevato al Pontificio, sotto il nome di Eugenio IV e Niccolò mercè l'esborso di cento mila ducati fu ascritto al patriziato con decreto 20 e 24 agosto 1653 del senato e del Maggior Consiglio. Si segnalarono di questa famiglia: Gabriele di Angelo, canonico di Verona, nel 1400 fondò l'ordine dei canonici regolari nell'isola di S.Giorgio in Alga di Venezia. Fu poi abate di S.Giustina, nel 1406, chiamato a Roma dal papa Gregorio XII, suo zio fu fatto pronotario apostolico tesoriere, vescovo di Siena; nel 1406 fu creato cardinale prete del titolo
