Antigua familia lombarda, de clara y ancestral virtud, que se ha extendido a lo largo de los siglos en varias regiones de Italia. El origen de esta cognominación, en nombre de ilustres genealogistas, debe buscarse en el topónimo "Consonno", una fracción del municipio de Olginate, ubicado en la provincia de Lecco, probablemente el lugar original de los progenitores.
