Noble famille vénitienne, passée en Sicile au 14ème siècle. Un Luigi obtint en 1395 la confirmation des fiefs de San Giacomo di Belmineo et Solarino et fut sénateur de Syracuse dans les années 1413-14, 1419-20. On ne sait pas si un Ignace qui fut capitaine de justice à Naro en 1694-95 était des descendants dudit Luigi ; un Giuseppe proconservatore à Girgenti en 1719 ; a Giuseppe, officier supérieur du Trésor politique royal à Palerme, qui en 1812 obtint, pour son fils Gaetano, la nomination comme secrétaire référendaire du royaume de Sicile. Un autre Giuseppe, descendant de Giuseppe, proconservateur à Girgenti, obtenu à 3 sem. 1790 exécution du privilège d'accorder le titre de marquis, titre qui fut porté par un Luigi, trésorier de Girgenti en 1801-2 et qui fut reconnu avec D.M. du 14 avril 1900 en la personne de Luigi Filippo (de Maurizio, de Luigi) qui fut député et
