Illustre famille, avec résidence à Venise, qui, pendant des siècles, a rendu d'importants services à la République de Venise et a appartenu à l'Ordre des Secrétaires du Sénat de Vénétie. L'un de ses ancêtres était l'auteur du célèbre pont du Rialto et d'autres bâtiments remarquables, pour lesquels il prit le nom d'Antonio Daponte. En raison des dispositions en vigueur en 1784, elle fut agrégée à la noblesse padouane et y resta jusqu'à la cessation du régime. Admise aux honneurs de la Cour sous le gouvernement autrichien de Lombardie-Vénétie, par la Résolution Souveraine du 4 septembre 1818, la famille Contin obtint la confirmation de sa noblesse, procédant de son appartenance au Conseil de Padoue aujourd'hui disparu. Non. Ital. De 1922, avec les titres de Noble (mf) Noblesse de Padoue, Chevalier de l'Empire d'Autriche (mf), en la personne des descendants du dernier reconnu Gio. Battista, de Giov.Battista et de Mme. Fulgenzia Sguario.
