Famiglia oriunda da Alessandria il cui capostipite parrebbe essere un Anselmo che il 14 marzo 1184 giuró fedeltá in Norimberga all'Imperatore Federico II di Svevia. Appartenne a questa famiglia Sebastiano, di Filippino, che era nel 1499 decurione di Alessandria; e ugualmente era decurione Marco Aurelio, di Gio. Battista. Il titolo comitale entró nella famiglia col figlio di costui Gian Battista, il quale nacque in Alessandria il 13 aprile 1666 e morí ivi nell'agosto 1738, e che fu infeudato di Revignano il 13 febbraio 1731 e investito l'8 successivo marzo. Sposó (1687) Maria Pizzorno e fu suo figlio, fra gli altri, Marco Aurelio (nato Alessandria 10 novembre 1694, def. 14 maggio 1745), che fu dottore di leggi. Questa famiglia si illustró con valenti personaggi fra i quali ricordiamo Antonio Massimiliano, del citato Marco Aurelio, (nato Alessandria 1° settembre 1762) che fu comandante del forte di Domodossola (1784) ed ebbe il grado
