Antigua y noble familia italiana, originaria de Génova, de clara y ancestral virtud, que se ha extendido por todo el mundo a lo largo de los siglos. Originalmente conocido como Morandi, cuando en 1528 pasó a formar parte del hotel De Grilli (= estructura organizativa en la que se agrupaban varias familias unidas por sangre o por un interés común) ya estaba dividido en muchas sucursales, algunas de las cuales con el tiempo sufrieron cambios en el apellido, incluidas las formas Corandi, Corando y Corande. Este fue un fenómeno muy frecuente alguna vez, antes de la cristalización e institucionalización del registro.
