Casa muito antiga, de origem Sassari, datada do século XIII, pertencente à nobreza menor, que em 1470 obteve o reconhecimento de Generosidade com um Barisone e que foi admitido na estação militar, em 1678, durante o parlamento de Las Navas. Um ramo conspícuo da família, em tempos muito remotos, mudou-se para Borutta, um local de onde se ramificou e floresceu em outras vilas do Meilogu. Pietro Corda foi declarado Cavaleiro Hereditário em 26 de março de 1738, Noble e Don, em 10 de dezembro de 1739, a pedido de seu filho Francesco, nascido em Borutta, por ele e seus descendentes masculinos e femininos, em nome de seu pai que já morreu como se estivesse vivendo.
