Vennero da Bergamo. I figli di Orazio Federico, Agostino e Giovanni Donato, offersero i soliti 100 mille ducati alla Repubblica, e furono ascritti alla veneta nobiltà, in seguito alla parte ballottata in Senato il 27 settembre 1646 con voti favorevoli 170, contrari 4, non sinceri 4, e alla parte proposta e presa nel Maggior Consiglio con voti favorevoli 769, contrari 79, non sinceri 11. Essi tenevano negozio di merci sotto il Fondaco dei Tedeschi all'insegna delle tre cinture, o coregge che poscia posero nel loro stemma gentilizio. Questi due fratelli avevano casa a S. Cassiano in Calle della Regina, ove attualmente trovasi una Calle detta Calle Correggio. La linea dei Coreggio si estinse nel 1737, e sembra che l'antica origine di questa famiglia fosse da Palermo, perchè una famiglia di quel Regno, portante il detto cognome, rimase erede di tutte le sostanze lasciate da Agostino fu Agostino II Correggio.
