Von dem gleichnamigen Ort, der zu den Cinque Terre an der Riviera di Levante gehört, von dem sie um 1300 nach Genua kamen. 1576 wurde er dem Adel Antonio qm Giambattista zugeschrieben; danach hatten seine Kinder die Inschrift und schließlich sein Neffe Antonio qm Stefano. Nur wenige Städte haben Adelsfamilien, die so alt sind wie die in Genua, da es trotz der Ereignisse der damaligen Zeit immer noch viele Familien gibt, die ihre Genealogie von Vater zu Sohn durch notarielle Urkunden von der Mitte des 12. Jahrhunderts bis zur Mitte beweisen heutzutage also aus einer Zeit, die fast allen Familien in Europa als Barriere dient.
