Antichi in Nizza, oriundi della Croix. Acquistarono nel 1705 da Maurizio Grimaldi il feudo di Auvare, di cui un Luigi ebbe la investitura della Camera di Provenza con titolo signorile il 20 maggio 1706. Il figlio suo Andrea, prefetto della Valle di Barcellonette, ricevette in sede, nel 1726, re Filippo V di Spagna che transitava per le Alpi, diretto a Parma. Cedette il feudo al figlio Giuseppe Claudio, che ne fu investito il 28 novembre 1770, con successiva erezione in baronia il 7 giugno 1774. L'anno innanzi aveva acquistato punti di La Croix dal marchese de Villeneuve de Beauregard e ne era stato investito col signorato il 3 giugno 1773. Altri punti di La Croix furono acquistati (Patenti 2 gennaio 1784) dal fratello suo Gaspare (1722-1804), generale di divisione, cavaliere di S. Luigi, distintosi nelle guerre d'Italia e sul Reno, ferito all'assedio di Casale; ma il feudo non fu oggetto
