Sehr edle und berühmte Amalfi-Familie, früher "Curriale" genannt, deren erste bestimmte Erinnerungen im dreizehnten Jahrhundert gefunden wurden, als die Familienmitglieder, ehemals Correale, in Neapel am Sitz von Porto edel waren; in Salerno am portaretischen Sitz und in Sorrent. Die Niederlassung in Salerno zog 1381 nach Sanseverino. Informationen finden Sie in den Konzessionsregistern, die der Prinz von Salerno von 1517 bis 1540 erstellt hat und die im R.-Archiv von Neapel geführt werden. Kapitän Matteo (geboren am 23. Dezember 1766 in Salerno am 10. April 1836) gehörte zum Zweig von Salerno, der am 7. September 1814 von König Gioacchino Murat mit dem Titel eines Barons ausgezeichnet wurde. und der Kapitän von Vacello Giuseppe, geboren am 24. Januar 1770 in Salerno, ebenfalls am 1. Januar 1811 von König Murat mit dem Titel eines Barons ausgezeichnet. Der Zweig von Salerno hingegen zeichnete sich durch Gabriele, Paggio und Cavallerizzo von Alfonso von Aragon aus .
