Ancient and very noble Italian family, known as Corvi, Corvo, de Corvis or Corbo, of clear and ancestral virtue. It originated in Naples from where it then branched out into Abruzzo, settling in the cities of Atri, Ortona a Mare, L'Aquila and Sulmona. Starting from the late 18th century it also branched out into Umbria and some Lazio territories. Other branches are attested in Molise. This house had numerous fiefdoms, including: Campovalente, Canacchiola, Carceri, Cerasoli, Cerrano, Pietrabbontante, Roccascalegna, S. Pio, Torre Cerviglioni, Cannocchiale, Morrone and Jaevim of Isernia. He also enjoyed the following titles: patricians of L'Aquila (1692), nobles of Sulmona, barons of Fontecchio, barons of S. Pio, barons of Torre Cerviglioni (1481), marquises of Zazzara (1606). In 1507 he had also worn the Maltese habit. The family began its descent in Sulmona towards the middle of the 14th century, when Seniola de Corvo, a rich merchant, moved there. Annibale
