Ancient and noble family from Piedmont, originally from the Cuneo area, that has spread, during the centuries, in different Italian regions and worldwide. According to what has been handed down, the family could be of Roman origin, belonging to the lineage of Cossa, from which have branched different families known as Cosso, Cosseri and Cossavella.
