A família é originária de Caramagna Piemonte, com memórias que datam do século XVI. Antonio foi decurion e secretário de Turim, em 1590, e dele descendeu, por cinco gerações, o advogado colegial Girolamo (22 de dezembro de 1846, de 80 anos), que decurion e prefeito de Turin (1829), adotou ( Patenti 14 aogsto 1827) como filho, o advogado Francesco Anfossi, filho de sua irmã, transmitindo o título de contagem que o rei Carlo Felice lhe concedeu em 12 de junho de 1830. O advogado Francesco Anfossi, então C. Anfossi, era filho de Giambattista, juiz em Carmagnola, e Maddalena C., e foi substituto do advogado tributário geral (22 de maio de 1830), juiz do consulado (10 de junho de 1843), conselheiro de apelação (20 de abril de 1855) e presidente honorário da recurso.
