Antica ed illustre famiglia, oriunda da Cremona, la quale riconosce per capo-stipite un Zanebone, fuoruscito da quella città, che propagò la sua stirpe in Cento. Ivi, tal casato, in ogni epoca, sempre si distinse per gli elevati personaggi, a cui diede i natali. Gio. Battista, del q. Matteo Zamboni alias Cremonini, nato in Cento, prima della metà del secolo XVI, visse lungamente in Bologna, ove fu ascritto a quella cittadinanza. Valente pittore, fu uomo versato in ogni disciplina ed amante di ogni scienza, pronto ad intraprendere quanto venivagli commesso. Morì verso il 1610. Cesare (Cento, 22 dicembre 1550 - Padova, 19 luglio 1631), fratello del precedente, invece, meritò di esser chiamato il principe dei filosofi, il genio di Aristotele e il lume dei greci interpreti.
