Famiglia oriunda pavese, passata poi in Liguria e quindi in Francia, dove si nobilitó con Beltrame (navo Varese Ligure 1702, def. 1758) che, luogotenente e vice governatore di Mantova (1750) e Ministro Plenipotenziaro della Lombardia, fu infeudato dall'Imperatrice Maria Teresa, con Diploma dell'11 marzo 1744, del feudo di Ravarano (Parma). Il fratello di costui Pietro (def. 21 ottobre 1765) fu Vescovo di Piacenza. Figlio primogenito di Beltrame fu Lorenzo Perpetuo, che fu Prefetto di Susa (1770) quindi di Saluzzo (1772), ed in seguito ebbe il titolo di Intendente Generale. Ebbe l'infeudazione di Monbisaggio nel tortonese, battezzato come Ravairano, il 4 agosto 1786 e fu invesito col titolo comitale l'11 dello stesso mese; sposó Teresa Fabar (1766), e da queste nozze nacque Beltrame (nato Voghera 9 febbraio 1769, def. Solero 21 marzo 1857), che fu sottoprefetto della Loire. A lui fu concesso il titolo di cavaliere dell'Impero Francese (9 maggio 1811)
