Ancient and noble family, originally from Pavia, which branched out in various parts of Italy. It was ascribed to the Nobility and the Patriciate of Ancona, Bari, Bologna, Catanzaro, Crema, Genoa, Milan, Naples, Parma, Piacenza, Reggio C., Verona, Venice and Trento. In 1361 this family came into possession of the fief of Casella, in Calabria, with the title of Marquis. A Beltrame, born in Varese in 1702 and died in 1758, who was a lieutenant and deputy governor of Mantua, was feuded by Empress Maria Teresa, with a diploma of 11 March 1744, of the fiefdom of Ravarano in the province of Parma. His brother, Pietro, was Bishop of Piacenza and the eldest son of Beltrame, Lorenzo, was prefect of Pisa and therefore of Saluzzo. He also had the feud of Monvisaggio in the Tortona area, baptized as Ravaran on 4 August 1786, and was awarded the comital title. Other
