Antica e nobile famiglia, originaria di Pavia, che si diramò in varie parti d'Italia. Fu ascritta alla Nobiltà ed al Patriziato di Ancona, Bari, Bologna, Catanzaro, Crema, Genova, Milano, Napoli, Parma, Piacenza, Reggio C., Verona, Venezia e Trento. Nel 1361 questa Famiglia venne in possesso del feudo di Casella, in Calabria, con titolo di Marchese. Un Beltrame, nato a Varese nel 1702 e morto nel 1758, che fu luogotenente e vicegovernatore di Mantova, venne infeudato dall'Imperatrice Maria Teresa, con diploma dell'11 marzo 1744, del feudo di Ravarano in provincia di Parma. Il di lui fratello, Pietro, fu Vescovo di Piacenza ed il figlio primogenito di Beltrame, Lorenzo, fu prefetto di Pisa e quindi di Saluzzo. Ebbe anch'egli l'infeudazione di Monvisaggio nel Tortonese, battezzato come Ravaran il 4 agosto 1786, e fu insignito del titolo comitale. Altro Beltrame ebbe il titolo di Cavaliere dell'Impero Francese, conferitogli il 9 maggio 1811.
