Questa famiglia, nel secolo XVI, apparteneva al Consiglio Nobile di Pordenone. Passata successivamente ad abitare in Aviano, ivi fermò la sua residenza, che tuttora mantiene. Appartenne ad essa il padre Marco d'Aviano, nato il 17 novembre 1631 dal nobile Marco Cristoforini e da Rosa Zanoni, che divenuto celebre nella predicazione, fu mandato da papa Innocenzo XI a Innsbruck, a Monaco, a Linz, a Salisburgo e nelle città renane. Passato poi in Francia, ne fu cacciato da Re Luigi XIV allora in contesa con Roma per la questione delle regalie e passò nel Belgio, in Germania ed in Italia. Nel 1683 Leopoldo imperatore lo spedì a Carlo di Lorena per indurlo ad accorrere in aiuto di Vienna assediata dai Turchi. Morì nel 1699 ai 13 di agosto, visitato al letto di morte dalla Casa imperiale. Altro Marco Cristoforini fu eletto podestà di Pordenone nel 1735. La casata non si presentò alla
