Antigua y muy noble familia lombarda, conocida como Crotti o Crotta pero a veces también transcrita como Grotti o Grotta, de clara y ancestral virtud, que se extendió a lo largo de los siglos en diversas regiones de Italia, con importantes asentamientos en Piamonte y Véneto.
