Diese Familie ist ein Nebenzweig der Richterfamilie von Arborea, die von Niccolò di Bas, dem Bruder von Richter Mariano IV, abstammt. Sein Sohn Salvatore heiratete Costanza Cubello und Leonardo, ihr Sohn, begann sich bei seinem mütterlichen Nachnamen zu nennen. 1410 befasste sich Leonardo mit dem Vizekönig Pietro Torellò mit den Bedingungen der Übergabe des Giudicato von Arborea und erhielt die feudale Investitur von Oristano mit dem Titel Marquis und von Goceano mit dem Titel Graf.
