Ludovico Monaldeschi nella sua Cronica M. S. comunemente ricevuta dice, che Marianello Cuccino Nobile alemanno venne in Italia a Roma sotto l'Impero d'Enrico III circa l'anno 1046, dal quale poscia nel 1053 fu mandato a Leone IX novente l'armi scontro Gisulfo Noramanno occupatore di Benevento ove si portò da saggio capitano e valoroso soldato operando molto nella liberazione del Papa. I tempi confrontano cogl'Istorici riferiti dal Ciaccone nella vita di d° Loene IX. Il cognome conviene il medesimo poichè in lingua alemanna Cuezle vuol dire Cagnolino, ovvero Can giovinetto, ed abbiamo noi preso dal tedesco questo vocabolo riferisce il medesimo Ludovico Monaldeschi nel suo Diaro sotto l'anno 1323, come siegue: Fu eletto Capitano cioè Generale del Popolo, perchè si sentiva un rumore in Italia, lo valoroso Sciarra Colonna, e i suoi Caporali (cioè Capitani) erano Jacomo Savello, Tebaldo di Sto Stazio, Francesco Canellario uno Cuccino etc."
