Antico ed assai nobile casato campano, il quale, nel 1743, venne aggregato alla nobiltà di Ravello, nonostante, comunque, già fosse iscritto, da immemore tempo, al patriziato di Salerno. Tal famiglia, inoltre, ha dato i natali a ben otto vescovi, come giusta il Guerritore nel "Ravello e il suo patriziato", tra cui Angelotto, commendatario di Cava, creato, nel 1432, cardinale da Papa Eugenio IV e Paolo, seconda metà del XVI secolo, vescovo di Ravello (1570 - 1578), benvoluto e rispettato per le sue qualità umane e pastorali, nonché per la profonda conoscenza delle dottrine giuridiche. Sempre secondo il Guerritore, inoltre, la famiglia Fusco era stata decorata della regia familiarità sin dal 1536 e poi del titolo di Duca. Ma, d'altronde, tal casato, nel corso dei secoli, sempre riuscì a distinguersi, grazie agli elevati personaggi, a cui diede i natali.
