Family of Vicenza origin that took its name from the castle of Custoza, formerly Custody, de Custodia and Costoza, castle located on the slopes of a hill near the Bachilione river. In 1583 it was inscribed among the nobles of the Vicenza Council; in the sec. XVII a branch settled in Mantua. Angelo in 1688 was an advisor to the empress Eleonora and a cupbearer to the emperor Leopoldo who, with the privilege of 20 June 1688, conferred the imperial nobility on the family and with a diploma from Ferdinando Carlo Gonzaga, Duke of Mantua, was granted the title of comital with masculine primogenial succession, confirmed with sup. Resolution in. of November 21, 1816. She is registered in the Nob List. Uff. in person of: First-born branch, with the title of count (mpr.). Camillo, of Angelo, of Camillo. Ignazio, of Arrigo, of Camillo, with his children: Virginio, Elisa and Leopolda.
