Família de origem Vicenza que recebeu o nome do castelo de Custoza, anteriormente Custody, de Custodia e Costoza, castelo localizado nas encostas de uma colina perto do rio Bachilione. Em 1583, foi inscrito entre os nobres do Conselho de Vicenza; no segundo. XVII um ramo se estabeleceu em Mântua. Angelo em 1688 foi conselheiro da imperatriz Eleonora e copeiro do imperador Leopoldo que, com o privilégio de 20 de junho de 1688, conferiu a nobreza imperial à família e com um diploma de Ferdinando Carlo Gonzaga, duque de Mântua, recebeu o título de comital com sucessão primogenial masculina, confirmada com sup. Resolução em. de 21 de novembro de 1816. Ela está registrada na lista Nob. Uff. em pessoa de: Filial primogênita, com o título de contagem (mpr.). Camillo, de Angelo, de Camillo.
