Antica e nobile famiglia tedesca, di chiara e ancestrale virtù, con rami nei Paesi Bassi, in Francia e in molti paesi balcanici, che nei secoli si è diffusa in tutto il mondo, soprattutto in tutti quei luoghi che un tempo furono colonie europee. Nota come Cyre o Csire, questa famiglia apparteneva all'antica nobiltà degli "Uradel", termine coniato solo in epoca moderna, in riferimento a famiglie nobili il cui lignaggio ancestrale può essere fatto risalire a prima del medioevo.
