Antica ed assai nobile famiglia del Regno di Napoli, di chiara ed avita virtù, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia. Il nome della casata deriva dal germanico "Heinrich", composto da "Heim", cioé "casa, patria", e "rich", "capo, potente", indicante quindi colui che era capo della sua casa, potente in patria. La famiglia D'Errico, tenuta in grande onore dai Normanni e dagli Svevi così come dagli Angioini e dagli Aragonesi, nel tempo acquisì grande rilievo, testimoniato dalla sua ascrizione alla nobiltà di diverse città, tra cui: L'Aquila, Chieti, Caserta, Bisignano (Cosenza) e Napoli Fuori seggio. Tra i tanti personaggi che l'hanno illustrata, ricordiamo: Nicola e Matteo, tra i baroni di Capitanata nel 1278; Antonio, di Caiazzo (Caserta), eletto nel 1445 alla cattedrale vescovile della sua città natale; Antonello, tra i cavalieri e i cortigiani del Duca di Calabria nel 1481; Gio. Angelo e Aniello, nella lista degli ordinandi
