Família muito antiga, de nobreza clara e comprovada, originária da Alemanha, chamada Di / De Gregorio ou DIGREGORIO, que passou para a Sicília desde o século XII. Um Gregory foi juiz de Messina em 1319 e talvez ele próprio seja um soldado, destacado no papel dos senhores feudais sob o rei Ludwig por um cavalo armado; um Orlando era conestável do escritório Straticoziale de Messina, sob o rei Federico; Ansaldo, em 15 de agosto de 1404, obteve confirmação do escritório de Portulanotto di Lentini e Bruca; um Peter, certamente o mesmo que escreveu, com grande competência, de direito feudal, doutor em direito, juiz da Grande Corte do Reino de 1510, comprou o feudo Gallici por 6750 florins de Giovanni Branciforte e talvez ele próprio fosse aquele que detinha o cargo. posto de capitão da justiça em Palermo em 1553-54; Giovan Pietro, com privilégio concedido em 4 de dezembro de 1544,
