Antica e nobile famiglia di origine aragonese che si trasferì in Sicilia nel 1197 e poi, nel corso dei secoli, si diffuse in tutto il mondo, noto come (d ') Alaimo o Dalaimo. L'antenato Roberto arrivò a Palermo perché attratto dallo stile di vita condotto nel regno di Sicilia, in cui i cristiani convivevano senza problemi con i musulmani: la sua esistenza, infatti, gravitava inizialmente nelle privilegiate sfere straniere del corte del palazzo dei Normanni.
