Ancienne famille sarde, appelée Mura ou Dalla Mura, répartie au cours des siècles dans diverses régions d'Italie, avec des colonies plus visibles dans la région Lombardie-Vénétie. Avec un diplôme, daté du 13 juin 1778, Vittorio Amedeo II, roi de Sardaigne, accorda le titre de chevalier et l'usage des armes nobles en faveur de Donna Maura, de ses fils, mâle et femelle, de premier lit avec feu Giovanni Pietro Maria, et des descendants mâles et femelles. Avec un autre diplôme, de la même date, SM accordait également le titre de noble avec la même transmissibilité.
