Ehemalige Adelsfamilie mit Sitz in Poitou und Limousin. Eon, 1426 vom Herzog in den Adelsstand erhoben. Die Ritter dieser Familie nahmen an den Kriegen mit Frankreich und England teil, als Poitou elf Jahrhunderte lang von souveränen Fürsten regiert wurde. Die bretonischen Streitkräfte bestanden hauptsächlich aus seiner Ritterschaft, zu der sich einige in den Pfarreien erhobene Fußsoldaten gesellten; aber nach jeder Kampagne kehrten alle bis zu einer neuen Einberufung oder dem nächsten Verbot in ihre Häuser zurück. Mehrere Ritter dieser Familie waren "Bannerets", dh Ritter, die eine Kastellanei besaßen, und mächtig genug, um auf eigene Kosten eine Kompanie zu unterhalten, die aus anderen Soldaten und ihrem Gefolge bestand und eine Belegschaft von mindestens fünfundzwanzig bildete Pferde.
