Ancient and noble family of the Holy Roman Empire, with branches in Germany, Hungary, Romania, Austria, France and Belgium, of clear and ancestral virtue, that has worldwide spread, over the centuries. The first traces left by the family date back to the XIII century, when a David family is remembered as landowner in West Germany. In the following centuries, the members of this family obtained the knighthood several times. But to find the first official documents of nobility, we have to refer to the 17th century. Thomas David, with his sons Theodor and Michael, and his brother John, with his sons Georg, Georg II and Johann, were recognized nobles of the Holy Roman Empire, with diploma given in Wien on July 1, 1686 by Emperor Leopold I.
