Antichissima ed assai illustre famiglia di Bagnorea, di chiara ed avita nobiltà, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia. Sin dal 1454, Giacomo, figlio di Lazzaro de Arcangeli, fu legato della Compagnia del Salvatore, come nel Catasto. Nel 1553, inoltre, un Giacomo de Arcangeli, sempre da Bagnorea, lo troviamo qualificato con il titolo di "nobile di Bagnorea e Viterbo", ove, probabilmente, si era trasferito, ivi ponendo la propria famiglia. Nel 1606, invece, Fulvio de Arcangeli, celebre antiquario, degno d'eterna memoria, vien chiamato "gentiluomo e nobile romano", come possiamo evincere dalla sepoltura dello stesso, nella chiesa di San Agostino. La famiglia levò per arme. Fasciato di azzurro e d'oro; le fasce d'oro cariche di 6 gigli d'azzurro ordinati 3, 2, 1. Alias. Sei gigli turchini in campo d'oro, tramezzato di sbarre rosse. La prima ha tre gigli, la seconda due, l'ultima uno. Altro ramo. Assai antico e nobile casato
