Connus en Haute-Auvergne dès le XIIème siècle, possessionnés à la chaise-Dieu au XVIème et au château de Chabreuges près Brioude au XIXème. Un membre de cette maison, chevalier servant de l'ordre du Temple, fut témoin à Clermont lors du procès de cet ordre (1309). Appauvris et passés par désuétude dans la bourgeoisie. Lettres de réhabilitation de noblesse pour beaux services militaires (sept.1654), confirmées (mars 1669), en faveur de François, seigneur de Bélinais, ancien capitaine d'infanterie, lieutenant-colonel du régiment de Canillac, pourvu de la charge d'écuyer de la grande écurie du Roi le 28 nov. 1648. Pierre son fils, après de brillants états de service, blessé au siège d'Ypres en 1658, obtint de Louis XIV de succéder à son père, dans la charge d'écuyer de sa grande écurie. Sa posterité fut convoquée en 1789, à l'assemblèe de la noblesse de Saint-Flour. Un gentilhomme de la maison du roi. Beaux services militaires. Belles alliances.
