Ancienne et très noble famille piémontaise, originaire de Brozzo mais ensuite passée à Ivrea, connue sous le nom de Brida ou De Brida, répartie au cours des siècles dans diverses régions d'Italie et du monde. Comme le rapporte Antonio Manno, dans les volumes de son "Il Patriziato Subalpino", la famille est ornée du titre de seigneurs de Lessolo mais ils utilisent l'arme, l'écusson et la devise des comtes de Castellamonte, dont ils sont un collatéral bifurquer. D'autre part, cette famille, au fil des décennies, a toujours réussi à produire une série d'hommes qui ont fait sa renommée, dans les emplois publics, dans les professions libérales et ecclésiastiques et dans le service militaire. Parmi ceux-ci, sans rien enlever à la valeur des omissions, comptez : Tommaso, propriétaire terrien, florissant en 1576 ; Gio Batta, jurisconsulte très expert, florissant à Ivrée, en 1594 ; Francesco Giuseppe, docteur en « utroque jure »,
