Très illustre maison de la Bretagne, d'une haute antiquité, dont les premiers auteurs connus sont: Guillaume, Henry, Pierre et Alain, enfants de Pierre, font en 1304 échange avec le vicomte de Rohan, d'héritages situés paroisses de Noyal-Pontivy et Pluméliau; Jean et Alain rendent hommage au vicomte de Rohan en 1396; Eon, lieutenant du châtel d'Auray en 1433 et gouverneur de Guillaume de Blois, père de Jean, marié en 1455 à Catherine Guimarho; en 1472 à Jeanne Bino. Du second mariage sont issues les branches de Keriaval, de Kerantré et de la Porte, qui existent encore. Cette famille a produit plusieurs maîtres des comptes depuis 1641; plusieurs conseillers au parlement depuis 1628, dont l'un depuis prêtre, connu sous le nom de Keriolet, mort en odeur de sainteté en 1660; un page du Roi en 1779 et un maréchal de camp en 1815, mort en 1826. La branche de Kernars fondue vers 1652 dans Lopriac; la branche du Cosero fondue vers 1506 dans Lantivy.
