Noblesse . Guillaume, abbé de la Chaise-Dieu (1366-1377), obtint du pape Grégoire XI (1370), une balle décrétant l'achèvement de l'eglise de cette abbaye dont la construction avait été commencée par Clément VI. L'abbé Bonnefoy, dans sa plaquette sur le monastère de St-Robert, attribue pour armes à Guillaume le blason que l'on voit accroché au-dessus du buffet d'orgues. Il est difficile de se prononcer à cesujet, la hauteur et l'humidité des voûtes ne permettant de distinguer qu'un vague écusson portant en sautoir au premier quartier. Noble Pons de l'Orme seigneur dudit lieu, avait épousé vers 1475, Huguette Bayle de Boissieu. de concert avec son beau-frère noble homme Jean Bayle seigneur de Boissieu, il fonda, en 1478, plusieurs chapelles avec vicairies et laissa de son mariage: noble Jean seigneur du dit lieu, de la Pénide, etc. qui rend hommage de ses fiefs le 30 mars 1490, à l'abbé de la Chaise-Dieu.
