Ancient and noble Castilian family, of clear and ancestral virtue, that has spread, over the centuries, in different regions of Europe and outside Europe, particularly in Brazil. According to some scholars, the origin of this last name should be sought in a Spanish placename, place of origin of the family; according to others, however, it would be a matronymic, resulting, therefore, from the proper name "Rosa". Anyway, the family had its ancestral home in Castile but branches of it are also settled in Biscay and in Andalucía. We remember the wedding of Ana García De La Rosa, daughter of Antonio García and María De La Rosa, that was celebrated in San Fernando, in Cádiz, in 1680.
