Familia muy antigua y muy noble de origen húngaro, de clara y ancestral virtud, repartida a lo largo de los siglos en diversas regiones de Europa y del mundo. Cuenta la tradición que descendió a Croacia, al frente de una colonia militar, permaneciendo siempre fiel por tradición a la madre patria. En 1401, según escritos antiguos, ya se encontraba en posesión de tierras nobles en Grobnik (Grohovo), en Drasdine, en Ratulje, no muy lejos de Rijeka. Participó en la defensa del país frente a las continuas incursiones turcas, que culminaron con las invasiones de 1595 (incendio de Grobnik) y 1601. De la cruenta batalla de Grobnik (1601), cuyo recuerdo sigue vivo en Rijeka y que marcó el colapso de la gran invasión en Istria, los De Marsanichs, también conocidos como Marsaniks, crecieron en suerte e influencia.
