Le vicomte de Montravel nous dit que cette maison possédait, au XVIIIème siècle, la seigneurie du Bourg-Saint-Andéol. La Chenaye-des-Bois cite une maison de ce nom en Provence, au diocèse d'Orange. L'archevêque d'Arles prenait le titre de prince de Montdragon, mais la seigneurie était partagée entre plusieurs particuliers, au nombre desquels il y avait de simples roturiers. On lit, dans " l'Histoire de la Noblesse du Comtat-Venaissin", que l'ancienne maison de Montdragon, de la même principauté d'Orange, éteinte, a pris son nom du bourg de Montdragon, terre enclavée dans le Comtat-Venaissin. Guillaume est plus ancien de ces seigneurs, dont on ait connaissance. Il rendit hommage, en 1143 à Raimond de Montrond archevêque d'Arles, seigneur suzerain de Montdragon, dont les successeurs ont prétendu pouvoir se qualifier princes en vertu de certaines successions des empereurs. Elle s'est éteinte au commencement du XVIème siècle et portait comme le dessin.
