Très illustre maison de la Bretagne, d'une haute antiquité, dont les premiers auteurs connus sont: Jean, ratifie le traité de Guérande en 1380; Martin, homme de pratique et de bonne sçavance, exempt de fouages à la réformation de 1429, paroisse de Prigné; Guillaume, sénéchal de Clisson en 1499, prévôt de Nantes en 1501; François, conseiller au parlement en 1589; Étienne, lieutenant de la juridiction de Saint-Malo en 1668, secrétaire du Roi près la cour des aides de Clermont-Ferrand en 1707. On trouve des Macé, seigneurs de la Villeneuve et des Rosais, employés aux réformations et montres de 1535 à 1543, paroisse de Plérin, évêché de Saint-Brieuc; mais nous ne savons s'ils appartenaient à la même famille; un maîre de Nantes en 1662; deux conseillers au parlement depuis 1687; un aide de camp de Charette en 1793.
