Illustre famille, originaire de la ville de L'Aquila, noble en dehors de Piazza, à Naples, attribuée à Monte Manso en 1748, décorée le 18 janvier 1700 du titre de marquis, en la personne de Carlo Antonio, président du Sacré Conseil Royal ; ce titre a ensuite été fixé sur le fief de Villarosa (territoire féodal de la Principauté de Citra) selon le dernier titre dudit fief à Tommaso, le 4 mai 1768, dans la banque de coupons de cette province. Il a été reçu, pour justice, au SMO de Malte, en 1766, en tant que quatrième de la famille Palmieri de Naples (Grandes Archives d'État de Naples, Prieuré de Barletta, volume 29), et inscrit au Registre des Chevaliers de Malte de Justice. La famille est inscrite dans la Liste Officielle des Nobles Italiens de 1922, avec le titre de Marquis de Villarosa (mpr.), En la personne des descendants de Tommaso,
