Familia de la que tenemos memoria en Traetto (Campania), desde 1288, con Vito, padre de Nicola, investido en 1306 de la dignidad de Magister por el Papa Clemente V. Ebbe, por los Soberanos de Nápoles, concesiones de tierras cerca de Gaeta, con la obligación de suministrar un arma. Añadió el apellido Piscicelli para el matrimonio de Francesco con Giulia Piscicelli. Reconocido, en 1747, por la Cámara R. de Santa Chiara, de nobleza generosa, con motivo de las pruebas del cadete Francesco Piscicelli en los Regimientos Nacionales, y en las pruebas de admisión al Royal Baciamano. Y todavía reconocido noble (mf.) Con DM 1911. Con Real Decreto y Letras Patentes 12 de junio de 1930 Gioacchino, hijo del noble Gaetano (dic. 1892) y mujer María Isabella Álvarez de Toledo de los Marqueses de Villafranca y condes de Collesano (fallecido 1897), fue autorizado para asumir y transmitir el título de conde de
