Ancienne et patricienne famille vénitienne, connue sous le nom de De Belli, Dei Bei ou Ballini, pour certains originaires de Traù, pour d'autres de Bergame et d'autres encore de Vicence, qui est certainement présente à Venise, où ses membres se sont transmis, de génération en génération, l'exercice de l'art notarial. On se souvient, par exemple, de Simondino, notaire dans les années 1272-80. Une branche de la famille, à la fin du Xe IIIe siècle, s'installa à Trieste, où elle fut inscrite parmi la famille patricienne en 1246 et où elle donna naissance à de nombreux juristes, fonctionnaires, écrivains, commandants militaires et prêtres.
