Alte Familie aus Bologna, woher es scheint, dass ein Bartolomeo-Sohn von Mastro Antonio Calza es 1415 nach Verona verpflanzte. Es ist nicht sicher, ob die gleichnamige Patrizierfamilie denselben Ursprung hatte.
