Die Familie rief vor den Grassi an und nahm den Nachnamen Carpi aus seiner ursprünglichen Heimat an, von wo aus er aus Angst, dass Pii und Fogliani zur Zeit von Herzog Borso in Ferrara Platz machten, abreiste. Paolo ausgezeichnete Rechtsberatung; Ludovico schloss sich 1647 den 27 Adligen des Großen Rates an. Autoren, die von dieser Familie sprechen: V. Palizzolo Gravina Barone di Ramione bot in seinem 1871-75 in Palermo gedruckten Werk "Der Blazon in Sizilien oder die heraldische Sammlung" viele interessante Neuigkeiten über diese Familie und über die glorreichen Traditionen dieser Insel. Zusammen mit Minutoli, Invges, Mugnos und mehr als einem unermüdlichen Marquis von Villabianca sammelte das Werk Dokumente, Pergamente und Zeugnisse, die von Familienmitgliedern übermittelt wurden, die über ihre Vergangenheit, die Tugenden und Taten ihres eigenen Schiat sprechen.
