Die ursprünglich aus Rom stammende Familie Del Moro verteilte sich in verschiedenen italienischen Provinzen. Von der in Padua gegründeten Niederlassung stieg der Alboino-Konsul 424 nach Rialto ab; so lesen wir in den venezianischen Chroniken. Rund tausend lebten sie in Negroponte; kurz darauf war ein Dominikus Episkop von Venedig; und Giovanni, der 1121 mit der Würde des Patriarchen von Grado ausgestattet wurde, wurde in öffentlichen Memoiren als tugendhafter Mann berühmt. In Murano gab Stefano im Oktober 1143 die Mieten einiger Besitztümer an die von seinem Urgroßvater Domenico erbaute Kirche S. Salvatore. In den Erinnerungen dieser Familie ist daran zu erinnern, dass Luigi, Armeekapitän, 1280 einen Sieg der Venezianer über die Triestines berichtete; und Simone, ein Mann mit sehr klarem Wissen, Pfarrer von S. Trovaso, S. Barnaba, S. Pantaleone und schließlich Bischof von Castello, wo er um 1293 starb. 1297 in das Patriziat aufgenommen, zeichneten sich die Familienmitglieder während des berühmten Aufstands
