A família Del Moro, originária de Roma, se espalhou por diferentes províncias italianas. Da filial estabelecida em Pádua, o Cônsul Alboino desceu para Rialto em 424; então lemos nas crônicas venezianas. Cerca de mil pessoas moravam em Negroponte; pouco depois, um Dominic foi o episcópio de Veneza; e Giovanni, investido da dignidade do Patriarca de Grado em 1121, deixou a fama como um homem virtuoso em memórias públicas. Em Murano, Stefano, em outubro de 1143, deu os aluguéis de alguns pertences à igreja de S. Salvatore, construída por seu bisavô Domenico.
